Where have I been...

Earlier this week, I was notified that one of our friends had died on Monday, Nov 7. both Ron and I were at work when we received the call from Kansas. We immediately started making arrangements for traveling to Marion, KS. We left on Friday. We stayed at a BnB in Hillsboro, KS. Nice place, never stayed at one before, but it was nice, we were only at the bnb to rest. We did not have breakfast while there. We were contstantly on the run. The funeral was on Saturday at 2pm in Syracuse, KS. That was a 5 hour drive from Marion, KS. It was a long trip. All went well, paid our respects, and came back to Hillsboro, arriving at 9pm. We then left on Sunday morning. Total trip mileage was 1500 miles. Like I said earlier, we left on Friday, Nov 11 at 2:30pm and arrived back in Dallas on Sunday, Nov 13 at 5pm. This was a looong trip.

Our friend enjoyed watching tv, playing video games, and gambling. He also liked to eat and smoke. I do remember helping him out when he was in Coppell and Irving Texas, back in the mid 90ties. I remember it like as if it were yesterday. Those days are gone now. We have closed this chapter in our lives. Rest in Peace Friend.

Well, I did it...

I finally quit my job. No more Support Desk, no more calls about users having issues with their computers. No more! Now, I will support only one person, me!

I am now focused on finishing the course at NYIP. I have been working on this since Feb 2004. So I have till Feb 2007 to finish. I have completed 3 of the 6 units. I am working on 4, but has been a bit difficult finding models that will do TFP modeling. So now, I will be able to go to different locations and post some flyers that I am looking for models. Hopefully I will get some calls. The other thing I can do is advertise in the local paper. But that takes money. So wish me luck.

Here's a portrait of my friend, he's a pomeranian chihuahua mix and his name is Asel

Macro Photography

A friend invited several of us to do some macro photography where he works and does the same. I figured I would create some kind of ad that you would see in a magazine or a catalog, here it is.

Bachman Lake Annual Sprint Trials - Rowing Club

Went out to Backman Lake with a friend from the fStop group and had a blast. Wished there were more of our members participating. Got some really good shots. Here's one...

Scarbrough Faire 2005

This lady was dressed in red, loved the color and how the sun made it look fiery red. Unfortunately, the way the internet shows these pictures are not the true colors, so it looks somewhat dull. Oh, also, I added a vignette to the picture.

Had a wonderful time at Scarbrough Faire this Sunday, April 24. I went with one of the guys from the fStop group in Dallas. Jeff Banning. Wonderful fellow. We had fun talking and photographing, exchanged photography ideas and learned from each other. Posted by Hello

Texas Pride Cup 2005

I have not posted much, but have been busy with other things. I went to the Texas Pride Cup 2005 Rugby tournament on April 9. I invited everyone from the fStop group in Dallas to join me, but it was a last minute thing, heck, I didn't know about it till two days prior, Thursday evening. But, I want to learn more about the different types of photography and would like to sharpen skills at it all. So, they missed out on some great shots.

There were three games:

Dallas Diablos vs Houston Roughnecks,
Houston Roughnecks vs Austin Lonestars
Dallas Diablos vs Austin Loanstars

Austin Won.

What happened...

Well, being ill is not one of my favorite things. Let me tell ya, when the bug hits ya, sometimes it gets you down. I had what I can only call the flu. It was not a good thing. But now I am ready to tackle some more photography. Hopefully, I'll have something to post tomorrow.

Here is another from the Dallas Arboretum. I did not use Fuji's raw converter on this one. I used PhotoshopCS and gave it a vignette. Also wanted the colors to pop. And they do. Posted by Hello

Dallas Arboretum

Went to the Dallas Arboretum yesterday, I know, it's like midnight thirty, yes I am up late. I'm also coming down with a cold or sinus something or other. Hate it. Anyway, I was there from 12:30 to about 4:15. Had lots of fun. This is one of the pictures I took. The rest will go up on my site. Posted by Hello

Downtown

Was hoping to get something better for my website.

Well, I dragged my boyfriend out with me tonight to assist in getting this picture. I had him stop on the right shoulder of Woodall Rogers going East. There was a news van parked there so we had to wait. Once they left we moved in. I had fun with this. Hopefully I can do some more night shots of downtown. I may just do the surrounding cities as well. Posted by Hello

Jupiters Explosion

Tried several different subjects. The assignment requests a single light and use of a reflector to open up the shadows. This one is being submitted for one of my assignments. I had a 16x20 printed and it looks beautiful. Now I have to get it framed. Posted by Hello

Here is a drawing I made back when I was in jr high around 1981. Let me tell you, the actual photograph was tiny, I believe it was a 1x1 inch photo. The scan is not all that great. The original looks better. This was before I had any kind of formal training on drawing or sketching. Posted by Hello

I took this picture at the Dallas Farmers Market at about 9am on Sunday, July 14, 2002. When you look at it from a distance it kinda looks like a waterfall or rapids. I've had several people say this to me. Posted by Hello

It has begun

Ok, I have finally jumped on the blogger bandwagon. Whew!

Now all I have to do is keep up with posting thoughts, ideas, rants, raves, you know, everything that is important to me.
